A number of people are new to some astrological concepts and particularly Indian astrology (vedic). Most notice that a vedic chart has a different Sun or Ascendant than a chart drawn by a western astrologer. What has happened is that the "Western" astrologer has drawn a "Western" or tropical horoscope instead of a traditional Indian horoscope. Western horoscopes use a tropical calculation whereas Indian horoscope use a sideral calculation or offset. Therefore most horoscopes will differ from a western or tropical horoscope by about minus 23 degrees. So, for example, your Sun was in Aries at 10 degrees in the western chart it will be in Pisces at 17 degrees in the vedic or indian chart.

What can we possibly tell you about Chinese astrology ?
It's much more complicated than they will teach you in books or websites. The chinese calendar is based on the movement of the moon around the horoscope. Every year a different date marks the start of the Chinese new year. Besides the year animals representing their horoscopes, the Chinese give importance to natural elements such as : ''Wood, earth, metal, fire and water. '' There's also a great deal of attention given to the hour of birth which they call a companion sign. The day and the month play a particular role but it gets really complex when we take into account the 111 planets and stars that they use to complete birth charts !
You can still get an accurate analysis concerning compatibility just by comparing the year and hour of birth signs from both partners.
